Visit to Department E06 at HCB

On March 20, we had the opportunity, as representatives of List 2 – The Employee Representatives, to introduce ourselves in person to Department E06.

As this was our first appointment of this kind, the meeting was marked by a sense of anticipation and excitement. We were all the more pleased to engage in an open and very insightful exchange, where we were able to present our values and goals for the upcoming works council election.

Direct dialogue was particularly important to us: we listened carefully and took note of the wishes and needs of our colleagues.

One point, in particular, has stayed with us: the clear wish for a fair and respectful election campaign. This message was clearly directed at all parties involved, especially also at List 1.

We would like to sincerely thank everyone for the open discussion, trust, and exchange. We look forward to seeing you again and have committed to staying in touch.

Our speech at the employee assembly

Dear colleagues,

First of all, thank you for the reports and information today and for the newspaper that was distributed in advance. It is important that we as a workforce hear what is happening at our site and which topics concern us.

Over the past weeks I have had many conversations with colleagues in the company. During these discussions it became clear how strong the interest in co-determination is – and how important an open exchange about the future of our site is for many.

We have heard today that this year the works council election will take place – this time as a list election. For me, democracy includes the fact that different forms can exist.

AIn the end, one thing always counts: the will of the voters.

From my point of view, it is especially important that a works council works independently, consistently uses its legal co-determination rights and acts transparently towards the workforce.

And just as important: no matter which colleagues will be elected to the works council after the election – in the end it is about acting together in the interest of the entire workforce.

Perhaps the list election even has a small practical advantage: In the past we had to make many individual marks in the works council election – this time, in the end, a single mark is enough.

So maybe nothing was taken away from us … instead we were simply given a little bit of time.

Thank you very much
